Canine Species-Specific Probiotics
Current Consumer Trends
Pet owners are increasingly focused on improving their pets' overall health and well-being, including digestive health, immune system support, and allergy management. With a greater understanding of the gut-brain connection in animals, pet owners also see the potential of probiotics in reducing stress and anxiety in their pets.
This growing demand has led to an expanded range of probiotic products specifically formulated for pets, including not only in pet food but also in the form of supplements and treats. As a result, the demand for pet probiotics is likely to continue its upward trajectory, driven by the desire of pet owners to provide the best possible care for their beloved companions.
Probiotics Support Canine Digestive Health and Wellness
Probiotics play a crucial role in maintaining the health and well-being of dogs. Just like humans, dogs have a delicate balance of bacteria in their digestive systems that can be disrupted by factors such as stress, diet changes, medications, or illness. Adding probiotics to a dog's diet can help restore and maintain a healthy gut microbiota, promoting optimal digestion and nutrient absorption.
Probiotics can aid in alleviating common digestive issues in dogs, such as diarrhea, constipation, and irritable bowel syndrome. They can also strengthen the immune system, making dogs more resistant to infections and diseases. Additionally, probiotics may help manage allergies by modulating the immune response and reducing inflammation. Overall, incorporating probiotics into a dog's diet can contribute to better digestive health, enhanced immune function, and improved overall well-being.

Featured Probiotic Blend
(Contains both Heritage and Ancestral Probiotics)
CANINE HERITAGE PROBIOTIC BLEND
This unique blend has undergone in vitro and in vivo assessment showing that the species-specific probiotics are able to survive in the presence of low pH and bile salts, adhere and colonize in the gut as well as provide a positive impact on overall animal health.
-
Palatability, safety and ability to survive gastric digestion, locate in the large intestine (adhere and colonize) and proliferate.
-
Ability to “shift” microbiome microbial populations.
-
Preferable health effects: increased production of SCFA (short-chain fatty acids), defense against pathogenic bacteria, reduced infection, reduced inflammation, and increased nutrient absorption.
-
Positive effect on gut epithelial barrier function and positive impact on interleukin (cytokine) production which regulates immune response.
This blend is available in two formats: HB4 (Freeze-Dried Powder) and MEHB4 (Microencapsulated Powder).
Through extensive research, we have developed a blend containing Lactobacillus casei K9-1, Lactobacillus fermentum K9-2, Lactobacillus brevis WF-1B and Lactobacillus reuteri WF-1 (canine species-specific probiotics from both of our heritage and ancestral lines).
