J.F. (Jake) BURLET, D.V.M., M.B.A., ICD.D

Dr. Jake Burlet is the CEO of CanBiocin, a veterinarian, and serial entrepreneur with broad experience in private and international business. Jake has co-founded and overseen the management of a number of Canadian private companies.

Dr. Burlet has served in an executive capacity for a number of veterinary professional organizations. He has also been an advisor to two multi-national veterinary pharmaceutical companies. Board experience includes the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation (Edmonton), The Centre for Innovation Studies (Calgary), and Directorships for three privately held Canadian corporations. He is currently also a Director for United Farmers of Alberta (Chair, Enterprise Risk Management Committee).

Dr. Burlet is an alumnus of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and has post graduate training in animal nutrition and herd management from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. In 2015 he earned his professional corporate director designation from the University of Toronto, Rotman School of Management.


QIXING OU, M. Sc., M. Ag.

Qixing Ou joined the CanBiocin team as a Research Technologist. She obtained a M.Sc. in Food Microbiology from the University of Alberta in 2016 as well as a M.Ag. in Animal Microbiology and Immunology from China Agricultural University in 2012. She is interested in microbiology related research.


Lison Tse is the Laboratory and Administrative Assistant at CanBiocin. She holds a B. Sc. in Nutrition and Food Science with a major in Food Science Technology.  


Januana is the Senior Scientist and Lab Manager at CanBiocin. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology from the University of Alberta.
